Someone confesses to a serious crime to a priest of a religion, the priest keeps it to himself because a vow to the church he made when he became a priest. Eventually the person is arrested and the police learn he confessed to the priest, so they approach the priest and attempt to get him to testify against the accused, however the priest refuses comply to because according to his religion if he reveals anything from a confession he will not only be damned to hell, but also will lose his job and be excommunicated from the church. Should the priest be able to be punished if subpoenad and he continues to refuse?
