Should prisoners be able to request euthanasia?

If a prisoner is sentenced to life without parole or is on death row anyway, should they be able to sign some papers with a lawyer present in order to be peacefully euthanized, rather than spending decades in prison, wasting taxpayer dollars. They would be euthanized within a week of signing the paperwork.
